2. I ordered the original cast recording of South Pacific because I was going to see the timeless classic production at a local theater. The added bonus was that I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I also received it on my Cloud player on my kindle fire HDX. I got to listen to South Pacific immediately before I received the CD/5(56).

6. It is glorious. The music and in fact the lyrics too. On this CD is a 10 or 12 minute instrumental piece made up of Rodgers' tunes and harmonies. I loved that too. There are the usual dreary unwelcome "bonus tracks". So I ripped just the show and the medley onto a CD-R and I love it. Everybody knows "South Pacific" so there's nothing more to say/5(56).

7. My love affair with South Pacific began in early childhood when my mother would listen to Mary Martin and Ezio Pinza on the original Broadway cast album and play the songs on our piano. After years of piano lessons, the only song I can play from memory is "Bali Ha'i," and Martin's place in my heart is forever secure because she was both Nellie Forbush and Peter Pan.
